The fourth 112 Awards Ceremony - organised by EENA - was held on 8th of November in the Palais d'Egmont, Brussels, under the patronage of the Belgian Presidency of the EU. It intended to recognise and congratulate individuals and organisations particularly engaged in improving and promoting the European emergency number 112.
The selection was ensured by members of EENA's Advisory Board and 112 Emergency Services Staff Network. The 112 Awards Ceremony was attended by several high level political personalities, representatives of EU Institutions, emergency services and solution providers.

31 representatives of public authorities in charge of 112 and several representatives of the European Commission also attended the event.
The 112 Awards were delivered for the first time in 2007. The second 112 Awards Ceremony was held on 3rd June 2008 in Cercle de Lorraine, Brussels and the 3rd one was held on the eve of the European 112 Day (11/2) 2009 in Palais d'Egmont, Brussels.
