Brief description of the 112 Operations Committe
Objectives
- Stimulate sharing of best practices among EU emergency services
- Review the different 112 models in Europe
- Review international emergency services operational documents (e.g. NENA documents)
- Create a set of recommendations to be published on EENA website that could serve as guidelines for EU emergency services and relevant authorities
- Follow and work on EU legislation affecting emergency services as well as EU funding
Timetable
First half 2010 - presentations of the national 112 systems in Europe including:
- Organisation of emergency services and call handling
- Call-taking and training of 112 call-taker
- Dispatching
- Transfer of calls and data sharing
- Statistics of emergency calls
- Level of emergency service integration within control rooms
- Citizens knowledge of 112 (national and as EU emergency number)
- Performance indicators (response times, intervention times)
- Accessibility for people with disabilities - handling of silent calls
- Location - pull/push, cost, project -
- Public warning for citizens
- Issues to solve
- Projects and/or reforms
From second half 2010 - Topic discussion and creation of requirements and performance indicators
