The need for a common discussion platform

Everybody who contacted the EENA after we launched the Newsletter and the web site in May, agreed on the necessity of a common discussion platform for the 112 issues. They even went further suggesting a common discussion platform at European level for all Emergency Telecommunication (EMTEL) issues.

CGALIES (Co-ordination Group on Access to Location Information by Emergency Services), a partnership of over 200 members from the telecom industry and service sector, emergency service operators and information service providers, was established by the EC to define requirements for a pan-European common location provisioning mechanism concerning emergency calls.
